Privacy

GatherAt is built so that gatherings are private by default. That principle applies to your data too: we collect what the product needs to work, and nothing we’d have to think hard about justifying.
What we collect
- Your account. An email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, also the name and profile photo they hand us. Nothing else.
- Gatherings you host or attend. Title, time, place, description, guest list, RSVPs, and anything written in the group chat.
- RSVPs from the web. If you reply to an invite without an account, we store the name you typed and, if you gave one, your email address, so the host knows who is coming and we can send your confirmation.
- Photos you add to a gathering’s shared album.
- Purchases. Handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card. We store only whether you have hosting credits or an active subscription.
What we don’t collect
No location tracking. No advertising identifiers. No third-party analytics that follow you around. We do not build a profile of your interests, and there is no feed to personalise. By design, GatherAt has nothing to recommend to you.
Who can see your gatherings
Only people who were handed the link. This is enforced on our servers, not just in the app: an event, its guest list, and its messages are unreadable to anyone who was not invited. We withhold a gathering’s exact address from guests until the host chooses to release it.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers required to run the product: hosting and databases, file storage, email delivery, and payment processing. They may only use what we send them to perform that service for us. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. If you need the current list for a compliance review, email us and we’ll provide it.
How long we keep it
Photos and video are deleted 90 days after the gathering. Not hidden or archived: removed from our storage. Albums stop accepting new uploads a day after the event, so there is a long window to save anything you want to keep. We would rather not hold a shared album of your evening indefinitely, and neither, we suspect, would you.
Gatherings and their messages stay until you delete them or delete your account.
Deleting your account schedules erasure 30 days later, so an accidental or heat-of-the-moment deletion can be undone by signing back in. Any gathering you host that has not happened yet is cancelled immediately and your guests are told, because they need to know now rather than in a month. After the 30 days we erase your profile, photos, messages, and RSVPs. Records of purchases are kept without your name attached, because tax rules require it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we’ll act within 30 days. If you are in the UK, EU, or California, you have these rights under law; we extend them to everyone.
Children
GatherAt is not intended for anyone under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
